FAQ

HOW LONG DOES THERAPY LAST?

The most honest answer is it depends. I have clients that come in for both short-term and lifelong concerns. Some clients report feeling better in just a few sessions and I have clients that I have worked with for years.

HOW OFTEN WILL WE MEET?

I typically recommend beginning by meeting one time per week. I have found that meeting weekly helps my clients effectively progress towards their goals. Once we establish goals and feel progress is being made, I typically recommend gradually decreasing the frequency of our meetings. This is flexible and based on your individual goals and needs.

WHAT ARE YOUR FEES?

My rates are $200 for the initial 60 minute intake session and $185 for standard 50 minute therapy sessions.

I believe that therapy is often some of the most meaningful work that you can do in life but I also recognize that therapy is a considerable investment on your mental health, time, and finances. It is a personal and professional commitment of mine to to provide the highest quality care and to regularly check in with you ensure you feel that you are moving in the direction of your goals.

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

I am in-network with Quest, Aetna, and some Highmark plans. For all other insurance panels, I am considered an out-of-network provider. My full fee is collected at the time of service. Many insurance policies have out-of-network benefits. If you would like to use your out-of-network benefits, please call and confirm your out-of-network co-pay, deductible, and any session limits. I will provide you with everything you need to submit for any eligible reimbursement.

HOW DO I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?

Contact me using my contact form or email me directly at drsara@hertzelpsych.com to schedule a free phone consultation. One of the best predictors of therapy outcomes is the fit between client and therapist. The consultation is intended to help figure out if you feel my personality and approach is what you're looking for before we schedule an initial appointment. Phone consultations are typically 10-15 minutes long. During the phone consultation, I will provide more information about my therapeutic approach and ask you a few brief questions about the concerns, struggles, and/or symptoms that you want to work on addressing in therapy.
