It is estimated that 3-8% of people experience the death of a parent before the age of 18. Losing a parent at any age can be a traumatic life event and is associated with increased risk of health-related, psychopathological and psychosocial impacts. Parent loss in childhood and adolescence often garners more clinical attention than parent loss in young adulthood and midlife. Regardless of when the loss occurred, research shows that parental loss impacts people throughout their lives. This live webinar is intended to provide concrete assessment and intervention strategies for psychologists supporting clients who have lost one or both parents based on the latest empirical and clinical knowledge.
Presented by grief specialists Sara Hertzel, PsyD and Christine Frampus, LPC, NCC, RPT, M.Ed
